Paul Hale, (Brewmaster), Paul Held, and Phil Kaszuba are the Managing Partners of Queen City Brewery, founded in 2012. As long-time friends and home brewers with a fondness for traditional beer styles, QCB represents to us the culmination of nearly 30 years of recipe formulation and research (i.e., beer trips to Europe).
Ben Gostanian is Queen City’s Head Brewer. Ben started with us as an assistant brewer in 2016 and quickly became an integral part of the QCB family. With over 12+ years of brewing experience, Ben is our man behind the malt! When he’s not mashing in and cleaning tanks, Ben enjoys motorcycle trips, gardening, camping, and playing death metal with our tasting room manager, Jason, in their band, Abaddon.
Jason Held is our Tasting Room Manager, providing friendly, knowledgeable service behind our beautiful 50 year old mahogany bar. Jason is a wealth of knowledge about the founding and growth of Queen City Brewery, and has been with the Brewery from its early days. If you’re looking for a good conversation, he is your guy - and if it’s up your alley, he knows a thing or two about baseball and death metal music.
EVENT SPACE at 703 Pine street
Our Event Space is open and ready to host your next gathering!
Great for parties, meetings, conferences, trivia nights - you name it, we’ve probably hosted it!
Warmly lit and tastefully decorated with hundreds of pieces of breweriana, it’s a cozy and comfortable place to entertain up to 80 guests*. Our interchangeable layout of tables and chairs allows the room to adapt to your event needs.
*Due to COVID-19 guidelines, we can only offer the room if we follow very specific guidelines - call (802) 540-0280 or email jason@queencitybrewery.com to get more information, as these requirements are constantly being updated.
The room features a sound system, bumper pool table, vintage bowling machine and garage-style doors to let the outside in, weather permitting.
We offer a few options for drinks in the space:
For less formal, smaller events, you can choose to walk down the hallway to the Queen City Brewery taproom to order Queen City beers.
If you would prefer a private bartender for your group, our staff can set up a bar for you and pour Queen City beer for your guests using our 8 tap draft system. We also offer a limited selection of wines, hard ciders, and sodas for those of you who may not want beer.
In accordance with state liquor laws, NO OUTSIDE ALCOHOL WILL BE PERMITTED. We also ask that you do not bring alcoholic drinks from PIzza 44 into the event space or the taproom - our businesses are independent of each other and have separate liquor licenses. Pizza and sodas can cross boundaries, alcoholic beverages cannot. You may bring in your own non-alcoholic beverages, such as juices and sodas.
For catering, we suggest Pizza 44, a wood-fire pizza restaurant located conveniently within a few feet of the room.
Please contact them separately regarding their catering menu and availability, either online or by phone at (802) 540-0441 .
